Total weight is a little under 70 pounds, split about evenly between the bike (with racks and lock) and the bags. I could almost certainly shed several pounds of gear, and may or may not chose to do so before trip end. We'll see.
I'll probably be doing mostly motels and some camping.
I also probably could have gotten away with just using two larger panniers in the back and no weight on the front, but splitting up the weight improves handling a lot. The cost is the weight of the front rack and empty bags which is about 5 pounds. I dunno. Maybe I should have been a bit more concerned about weight, though I think 35 pounds of gear is a little under average for going trans america.
